Ingredients:
- 1.5 lbs salmon fillets, skin-on
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp coarsely ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 lemon, cut into wedges
Instructions:
- Pat the salmon fillets completely dry on all sides using paper towels to ensure a proper sear.
- Rub olive oil over the flesh side of the fillets and evenly sprinkle with kosher salt, coarse black pepper, and garlic powder, pressing the spices into the fish.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the salmon skin-side down.
- Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 12-15 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 135°F (57°C) for medium-rare.
- Remove from oven and immediately brush melted butter over the top of each fillet.
- Garnish with finely chopped fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges.
- Allow the fish to rest for 3 minutes before serving to let juices redistribute.
