Ingredients:
- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 tbsp avocado oil
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 cups broccoli florets, bite-sized
- 1 tbsp avocado oil
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 3 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp minced fresh garlic
- 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp grated fresh ginger
Instructions:
- Toss the cubed chicken in a bowl with 1 tablespoon avocado oil, cornstarch, salt, and pepper until evenly coated. Note: Ensure there are no clumps of starch for a smooth crust.
- In a separate small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, sesame oil, and grated ginger until smooth.
- Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C). This is key for that immediate sizzle.
- Place the coated chicken in the basket in a single layer and air fry for 6 minutes. until the edges look white and slightly golden.
- Toss broccoli florets with 1 tablespoon avocado oil and garlic powder in a bowl.
- Add the broccoli to the basket with the chicken. Shake the basket to distribute everything evenly.
- Cook for another 5-6 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). You can verify this using a meat thermometer to avoid drying it out.
- Immediately pour the honey garlic glaze over the hot chicken and broccoli in the basket.
- Toss quickly with tongs for 30 seconds until the sauce thickens into a glossy coating. The heat from the food will thicken the honey almost instantly.
