Ingredients:

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups broccoli florets, bite-sized
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp minced fresh garlic
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp grated fresh ginger

Instructions:

  1. Toss the cubed chicken in a bowl with 1 tablespoon avocado oil, cornstarch, salt, and pepper until evenly coated. Note: Ensure there are no clumps of starch for a smooth crust.
  2. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, sesame oil, and grated ginger until smooth.
  3. Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C). This is key for that immediate sizzle.
  4. Place the coated chicken in the basket in a single layer and air fry for 6 minutes. until the edges look white and slightly golden.
  5. Toss broccoli florets with 1 tablespoon avocado oil and garlic powder in a bowl.
  6. Add the broccoli to the basket with the chicken. Shake the basket to distribute everything evenly.
  7. Cook for another 5-6 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). You can verify this using a meat thermometer to avoid drying it out.
  8. Immediately pour the honey garlic glaze over the hot chicken and broccoli in the basket.
  9. Toss quickly with tongs for 30 seconds until the sauce thickens into a glossy coating. The heat from the food will thicken the honey almost instantly.
