Ingredients:
- 4 cups (600g) fresh blackberries
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp (16g) cornstarch
- 1 tbsp (15ml) fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp (1.5g) salt
- 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp (0.5g) ground cinnamon
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, cornstarch, salt, and cinnamon until no clumps remain.
- Add the fresh blackberries to the bowl and drizzle the lemon juice and vanilla extract directly over the fruit.
- Using a silicone spatula, gently fold the berries into the dry mixture until every berry is coated in a thin, glossy syrup.
- Allow the filling to sit at room temperature for 5 to 10 minutes to allow the sugar to draw out the natural juices and activate the cornstarch.
